in Kansas City as in heaven.

a gospel dream.

We are a catalyst for reproducing disciples, leaders, churches, networks, and movements.

In the first century a Jewish prophet, named Jesus, emerged from the Judean wilderness with good news; “the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel!” (Mark 1:14). God’s conspiracy to take back and renew his world has begun in the person of Jesus. We are invited to join that conspiracy as disciples of Jesus.

Our part in Jesus’ gospel is to make disciples.

Disciples become leaders; leaders plant churches; churches gather networks; networks start movements.

Our gospel dream is to see a movement of church planting; a new church planted in every neighborhood and community in Kansas City.

Imagine the transformation that can occur if everyone in our city knew a disciple of Jesus, and experienced a taste of the Kingdom of God in their neighborhoods, families, and workplaces.

friends on mission.

We believe the love shared between disciples of Christ is an apologetic to our city.

In his final moment before going to the cross, Jesus will intercede for his disciples; “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” (John 17:20-21)

Jesus prays that his Gospel message will be received so that we might be united, as the Father and Son are united.

We come from many tribes, but all share one aim: to participate in God’s kingdom in Kansas City.

We are friends on a mission because we believe Kansas City desperately needs a movement of churches who love one another. This does not mean we compromise doctrine or theological conviction; we just believe our common convictions are stronger than our differences.

So in the example of Jesus we are working to discover what it might mean for us to be united in mission.

kingdom over castle.

We long to be disciples with a kingdom vision.

We believe that the best way to participate in God’s kingdom is to continually recommit ourselves to the way of the kingdom over the ways of the castle.

The ways of the castle keep us worried about my influence, my resources, my ministry; my castle.

The ways of the kingdom invite us to look towards our impact, our resources, our city; and His kingdom.

The gravitational pull of today’s ministry is toward more castle; we’re just crazy enough to think the Spirit is inviting us into more kingdoms.

To resist being castle first; we gather once-a-month in localized networks to reconnect, refocus, and encourage one another.

We gather to reconnect, refocus, and encourage one another.
